Keep your Subie Healthy with our 30/90k Service Package
Subaru 30k / 90k Service
Includes:
Intake Valve Cleaning (BG) (Direct Injection Only)
Direct injection engines don’t wash intake valves with fuel, causing carbon buildup. PCV function helps reduce buildup, but periodic cleaning is still required.
Applies to:
2014+ Forester XT, 2019+ Forester, 2017+ Impreza, 2018+ Crosstrek, 2020+ Outback
(30k interval)
Front & Rear Differential Service
GL-5 75W-90 synthetic limited-slip fluid
(30k interval)
CVT Transmission Service
BG CVT fluid + conditioner, TCM relearn + adaptation reset
(30k interval)
Subaru recommends ~25k (severe) to 36k intervals. We follow a 30k interval for reliability.
Subaru of Japan and many other Subaru corporations say this is a 3 year or 36 interval for regular service. Even in America, they recommend changing it every 25k for severe service which would include mountain driving so we stick with 30k recommendations
No fluid is lifetime fluid! This was a very harmful recommendation from Subaru of America that directly contradicted Subaru of Japan at the time.
Engine Air Filter (as needed)
Cabin Air Filter (as needed)
Fuel System Treatment (BG 44k – 10k interval)
*Important note when using BG44k additive: Add to a full tank of premium fuel and run near empty to clean injectors, O2 sensors, and catalytic converter.
Inspection & Checks
Brake fluid & coolant testing
Brake inspection
Tire wear check
Full vehicle inspection
Why TCM Relearn Matters (After CVT Service)
The transmission control module (TCM) adapts over time to fluid condition, pressure, and wear. Fresh fluid changes those characteristics.
Without a relearn, this can cause:
Harsh or delayed engagement
Shuddering or RPM flare
Excessive line pressure and added wear
While the system can relearn over time, performing a TCM relearn immediately ensures proper line pressure and shift behavior, reducing unnecessary stress and improving drivability.
